Can Vaseline Erase Wrinkles? Here’s What You Need to Know!

Photo 1 of 4

Using the right beauty products and keeping your skin moisturized can help prevent wrinkles. But is Vaseline good for wrinkles? While Vaseline, otherwise known as petroleum jelly, can’t technically prevent or reverse wrinkles, this miracle product can reduce their appearance and make them noticeable. But how does it do that, exactly?

1.It hydrates skin

Vaseline keeps skin soft and hydrated. In fact, the ointment is more moisturizing than it locks moisture into the skin, and since dryness is one of the leading causes of noticeable wrinkles, this makes a huge difference. It’s rich in vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids, which all keep skin looking supple and young.

2. Protects skin from environmental damage

Think of petroleum jelly as a protective layer that keeps skin safe from things like sun, wind, and pollutants. Protecting the skin from the elements may slow down the aging process.

3. Promotes elasticity

Elasticity is the ability of the skin to stretch and return to normal. A high amount of elasticity means that the skin has a good collagen level, and more collagen means fewer wrinkles.
