Smallpox
This disease overthrew the lives of 40% of those infected and on the survivors it left dire consequences in the form of scars from ulcers and blindness. The spread of the disease starts from the 4th to the 8th centuries of our era, periodically flaring up in Europe, then in America, then in Russia. Smallpox vaccination began at the end of the 18th century, and by the mid-1980s the disease was completely eradicated worldwide.
