Ants keep in their colonies about a hundred ants, which serve as food reservoirs for the whole large family. While it rains, ants feed them, filling the abdomen with a sweetish liquid. When an insect overeats to immense size and cannot move, other residents of the ant house lick their secret, thereby ensuring themselves the ability to survive without external power sources.
