The crash of a Boeing 777 in the Donetsk region
The disaster occurred on July 17, 2014 in the east of the Donetsk region of Ukraine. At this time, the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. On board the aircraft were 283 passengers and 15 crew members, all of them died. Cause of the crash: the plane was shot down by a Buk anti-aircraft missile in the area of a military conflict between Ukrainian government forces and separatists.
