This machine became the successor to the well-established Mi-24, only without a cargo compartment. Having gained experience in battles in Afghanistan, Soviet designers set about creating a more powerful machine — ideally armored and armed. The Mi-28N “Night Hunter” modification was able to strike in various weather conditions and at night, and was also equipped with more powerful guns, bombs and missiles.
