Painting and nuclear weapons
In most old paintings, a detailed analysis reveals isotopes such as strontium-90 and cesium-137. These substances were contained in the oil paints that painted these paintings. The paints, in turn, absorbed them after the first powerful nuclear explosions. It is for this reason that it is practically impossible to fake the canvases of old masters now, because radiation examination will immediately show the lack of these isotopes in the paint.
