In particular, the McDonalds chain of fast-food restaurants is to blame for the death of many hedgehogs. The animal found McFlurry ice cream cups and stuck there, dying of hunger, as the neck was wide enough for the hedgehog’s head to crawl into it, but narrow to crawl out of there. In 2006, animal advocates were able to get McDonalds to reduce the neck of their cups, thereby saving the lives of many hedgehogs from certain death.
