Hedgehogs, like porcupines, have immunity to viper venom. True, they have no interest in these reptiles and do not prey on them. However, if they suddenly meet an viper on their way, they will gladly gnaw it for lunch and will not pass by, like any predatory animal. Also, many other dangerous poisons, such as arsenic, mercuric chloride and potassium cyanide, do not act on hedgehogs.
